City Makers Philadelphia

Crafting the City: Dedication to the Makers Who Shape Our World

City Makers is an ongoing project that shines a light on the individuals who weave the fabric of Philadelphia. It celebrates the often-overlooked yet essential roles that keep the city alive every day. Caught up in our own lives, it’s easy to forget how much we rely on each other to keep things running. The labor and logistics behind daily life enrich us, but we rarely stop to recognize the collective hustle that makes it happen. This project captures how we, as a community, shape and sustain the city, our world, and the planet we call home.

Expanding on this idea, City Makers goes beyond the culinary scene to spotlight the broader network of people whose work holds Philadelphia together. It dives into the hidden labor and vital, unsung roles that power the city’s infrastructure and culture. From street vendors to sanitation workers, I’m aiming to showcase their grit and dedication. The project ties the passion found in kitchens to the same drive pulsing through the streets, revealing how interconnected our efforts really are. Through these photos, I’m documenting not just individual hustle, but the shared grind that keeps our urban world thriving—giving a clearer view of the responsibility we all carry to build and maintain a strong community.
